Frances L. Bennett (Coker), age 79, passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness in Muncie, Indiana, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and dear friend to many, Fran touched countless lives with her vibrant spirit, unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, and words of encouragement. Her energy and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Born on December 8, 1945, in Eugene, Oregon, Fran was the only child of Leland Wheeler and Bernadette Coker (Wright), later moving with her mom to San Jose, California. It was there, at the age of 17, that Fran met the love of her life, Doug, while working at a local drive-in called Bobo's. When she jokingly offered to buy his car, which wasn't for sale, he playfully asked if she wanted to take it for a test drive — and so began a love story that lasted 62 wonderful years.

Fran had a keen eye for beauty and detail. She worked for nearly two decades as a manager with Home Interiors, Inc., where she helped countless clients transform their living spaces with warmth and charm. Later, she offered her talents as a personal decorator and eventually joined Doug in running their family business, Mile Marker Motors, where she managed the office and helped grow a loyal customer base. Whether decorating a home or helping someone find the perfect car, Fran had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and at home.

In her later years, Fran embraced a quieter life, spending cherished time with family and friends, playing cards, and enjoying life's simple joys.

Fran is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Douglas Bennett; her daughters Christine Miller (husband Scott) and Michele Bartlett (husband Noel); her grandchildren Josh (wife Shelby), Meagan (fiancé Connor Palma), Emma, and Ella; and her great-grandchildren Madison and JJ. She is lovingly remembered by many sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family who will miss her dearly.

A private graveside gathering to lay Fran's ashes to rest will be announced by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly welcomes online condolences.

Frances Lee Bennett lived a life full of grace, faith, strength, and love. Her presence lit up every room, and her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her.
