Frances L. Marsh, 92, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Oakville, May 6, 1918, the daughter of William Leroy and Nancy (Williams) Himes. Frances graduated from Ridgeville High School in 1937.
Frances was a member of Fountain Square United Methodist Church for over 60 years, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she was involved in various women's clubs.
Frances married her husband, Gifford in 1946, and was married 62 years when he passed away.
She was retired from Warner Gear Federal Credit Union as the head bookkeeper.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Sodders, Muncie; four granddaughters, Dawna Sodders, Muncie; Angela Sodders, Muncie; Annette Sodders, Toledo, Ohio and Connie Taylor, (husband-Richard), Muncie; two grandsons, Brian Sodders, (wife-Deana), Michigan and Brent Sodders, Key West, Florida; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren: a sister, Mary Mincer, Muncie; a brother, Richard (Bud) Himes and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Gifford and a granddaughter, Cheryl Cobb: four brothers, Charles, Clarence, Harrold and William (Bill); two sisters, Grace Jones and Martha Hawes.
Services will be held 12 Noon, Monday, December 27, 2010, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Steve Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
