SELMA - Frances Mae Osborne, 87, of Selma, IN went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, February 27, 2011 at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center of Muncie.
She was born January 27, 1924 in Muncie, Indiana the daughter of Harry and Beulah (Morrison) Gaines. She was a 1942 graduate of Selma High School.
Frances retired in 1989, having worked in the cafeteria at Wapahani High School. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Selma. Frances had a gentle and kind spirit. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and church.
Frances leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of fifty years, Elmer "Junior" Osborne; a daughter, Joretta Hertle (husband, Bob) of Muncie; a step-son, Ted Osborne (wife, Mindy) of Glendale, AZ; a daughter-in-law, Judy Brooks of Eaton, IN; two brothers, Earl Gaines and Paul Gaines (wife, Ruth), all of Muncie; two sisters, Louise Luttrell (husband, Walter) of Somerset, KY and Rose Duckworth (husband, Dan) of Albany, IN; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and thirteen nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald Brooks; three sisters, Della Arthur, Christine Brooks and Virginia Arthur.
A service to celebrate Frances' life will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery of Muncie.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 and one hour prior to services on Saturday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church of Selma and American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
