Frances Irene Murphy, 90 of Muncie, died early Friday morning, July 7, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born January 11, 1927 in Upland, IN and was the daughter of the late Charles E. & Ruby A. (Curtis) Welsh.
Frances graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1945 and from Amber''s Beauty School. She was the owner and operator of Fran''s Beauty Shop in Muncie. Frances was a member of Morningside United Methodist Church. She was President of Morningside& McCormick Neighborhood Association.
Frances is survived by her two sons; Charles T. Murphy of Albany and Ronald G. Murphy (Sherry) of Ruskin, FL; six grandchildren Tonua Murphy of Muncie, Randy Murphy (Julie) of Dunkirk, Tina Murphy of Bowling Green, KY, Duane Murphy of Muncie, Charlene Murphy of Muncie, and Jeremy Murphy of Shidler; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James k. Murphy; five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Services for Frances will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Jason Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.
