Frank Wilbert (Chops) Springer, 71, of Muncie, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010.
He was born May 17, 1938, in Evansville, IN to the late George Harris Springer Sr. and Mirandia Bell (Layne) Wilkins.
He worked and retired from Chevrolet Muncie. He was also part of Local 499 retiree chapter. He served on the Usher Board at Calvary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor J.E. Moorehead and also was a part of the Men's Ministry until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children, sons, Frank N. (Annette) Springer of Tampa, FL, Tyrone L. (Vidya) Springer of Oklahoma City, OK, Rodney D. Springer and George Michael Jackson both of Muncie; daughters, Mirandia Springer of Muncie and Macy Fuller of Anderson; brothers, James (Ivory) Johnson of Detroit, MI and Ronnie Wilkins of Muncie; sisters, Harrietta Ware of Kalamazoo, MI and Jean Johnson of Seattle, WA; step-mother, Geraldine Springer of Muncie; uncle, Emmitt (Margaret) Springer of Mayfield, KY; brother-in-law, Wallace Johnson Sr. of Muncie; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren; special niece, Kathy Motley of Muncie; special friend, Carla Davis of Muncie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George H. Springer, Jr.; sisters, Mary E. Springer and Ella R. Johnson; granddaughter, Angel R. Springer.
Funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J.E. Moorehead, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial in Gardens Of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie.
