Franklin L. "Frank" Egly, age 72, of Eaton, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at his residence with his family near him. He was born November 8, 1938 in Bluffton, IN to Lloyd F. and Mable M. Egly. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an avid gardener who also loved to tinker with cars and in his workshop. He was a Truck Driver most of his life and he was also a Security Guard at the Hartford City Paper Mill. Frank also was a Detective with Wells County Law Enforcement.
He married the former Judy Wright on July 4, 1992 in Dunkirk, IN and she survives along with sons, Randy Egly, (wife Susan), of Hartford City, Terry Egly, (wife Florence), of Trenton, IN, and Jerry Egly, of southern IN; daughter, Carolyn Rowe, of Bluffton, IN; step-sons Douglas Marcum, (wife Linda) of Hartford City, John Bailey, of Pointe, IN, Tom Bailey, (wife Christine) of Marion, IN and Larry Bailey, of Bluffton, IN; brothers, Dwight Egly, (wife Jenny), of NC, Roger Egly, of GA and Walter Egly, of Maysville, KY; sisters, Carol Egly, of NC and Martha Egly, of GA; 28 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-daughter, Betty Perry and step granddaughter, Brandy Feathers.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN 47303 with burial to follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation is from 11:00AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2723 South Albright Rd., Kokomo, Indiana 46902.
