Freda Jane (Brees) Hale, age 84 of Muncie, Indiana entered Heaven's gates on Friday, October 10, 2025. Freda was a member of McCormick View Chapel and has been attending River View United Baptist Church. She graduated from Royerton High School and worked in various occupations throughout her life. Freda loved all God's children and small animals. She enjoyed playing Triple Yahtzee with her family and friends as well as working jigsaw puzzles and creating birdhouses.

Freda resided with her niece, Ailesia Franklin and her husband Tony. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and loved being a great, great Aunt. She will always hold a special spot in their hearts as a very fun and loving Aunt. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, her very special neighbors Barbara Gregory and Joe Updike who with Freda was lovingly dubbed the three musketeers.

Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Hale and her daughter, Deborah Bumbalough. Also preceded by her parents, Grant and Roxie (Lyons) Brees, her brothers Irvin Ray, Willard, and Dale Brees and her sister, Pearie (Brees) Allred and several other family members.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of 5 North and Hospice, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for their very kind care of Freda and her family. Services will be held at Garden View Funeral Home/Gardens of Memory on Thursday October 16, 2025, visitation will be between 3-5 pm, services will follow, there will be no Graveside Services. Her services will be officiated by Pastor Ryan Goodin and Brother Dewayne Loveless.
