Freddie H. Selvey, 93 of Albany, passed away on Wednesday February 19, 2014 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. Born on September 3, 1920 in Albany to William and Grace (Brinson) Selvey.
Freddie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and then worked as a machinist at Warner Gear until his retirement after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, American Legion Post #167, and U.A.W. Local #287. His hobbies included fishing, camping, baseball, and spending time with his grandkids.
Freddie is survived by his sons Ron (Barbara) Selvey of Muncie and Fred (Leona) Selvey Jr. of San Antonio, TX; daughter Susie (Don) Anderson of Ocean Springs, MS; step-son Connie (Pam) Miller of Muncie; step-daughters Lana (Robert) Shick of Selma and Debbie (Jeff) Kirkwood of Eaton; many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren; sisters Helen (Gerald) Vincent of Dunkirk and Laura Mae Fetters of Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Larry Eugene, first wife Daisy, second wife Winnie, and four brothers.
Friends may call on Saturday February 22, 2014 from 11:30-1:30 at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie. Funeral services will then follow at 1:30pm. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy and the Delaware County Honor Guard.
