Frederick E. Vester of Muncie, Indiana passed away at Morrison Woods at the age of 84 early Wednesday, July 14, 2021. He was born in Sullivan, Indiana on October 21, 1936 to the late James and Sadie (Meier) Vester.

Prior to graduation from Royerton High School in Royerton, Indiana in 1954, Frederick searched out to hire as a farm hand and ended up working and living with Floyd and Ruth Taylor Farms on Riggin Road. After graduation, he worked for Marhoefer Packing Company until he entered into the United States Army on October 19,1959 and proudly served our country for 28 months during the post Korean Conflict. Upon his return, he continued to work for Marhoefer Packing Company until they closed. He married Linda Justice on June 23, 1957 in the Albany, Indiana Methodist Church. After Marhoefer closed, he began working as a tool and die maker at City Machine until his retirement in 2003 after 27 years. He was a member of the Albany Lodge F&AM as Pastmaster and the Teresa Chapter of the Eastern Star as Worthy Patron, both with Awards of Gold. He was also a member of Albany Job's Daughter as Associate Guardian and the Elks 1776 in Dunkirk, Indiana. He was a Boy Scout Leader and also a Delaware County 4-H Horse and Pony Leader for 10 years. Fred and Linda enjoyed many years of square dancing as well.

Frederick is survived by his two sons, Bruce Vester (Stacey) of Madison, Indiana and Mike Vester (Judy) of Forest, Indiana; two brothers, Charles Vester (Betty) and William Vester of Muncie, Indiana; one sister, Nancy Compton (Rick) of Muncie, Indiana; brother-in-law, William Iles, Jr.; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great grandchild; one step great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sadie (Meier) Vester; his wife, Linda (Justice) Vester; two brothers, James and Robert Vester; two sisters, Frances Johns and Mary Iles; and one sister-in-law, Myrna Vester.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Tammy Hallam.
