Frederick L. Brumbaugh, 80, of Muncie, IN died Thursday January 15, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Muncie. He was born on January 16, 1928 in Kendallville, IN the son of Lloyd and Elnora (Eichenger) Brumbaugh. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. On June 13, 1954 in Trafalgar, IN he married Lois Green who survives.
He graduated from Kendallville High School, received his bachelors from Indiana State University, his masters and EDD from Indiana University. He was an associate professor of math for twenty-four years at Ball State University. He retired from Ball State University in 1992 as a Professor Emeritus.
Frederick was a member of the High Street United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Kiwanis, the Indiana Math Association and several other educational organizations. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, crossword puzzles, theatre performances, BSU basketball and football. He volunteered at the High Street UMC food pantry and the BSU Alumni Center.
Surviving relatives include his wife Lois J. Brumbaugh of Muncie, IN; one daughter, Beth Bready (husband: Mark) of Missouri City, TX; three grandchildren, David, Cheryl, and Christopher Bready all of Missouri City, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Private family funeral services with military honors provided by the Delaware County Honor Guard have been arranged with Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN.
