G. Andrew Thomas (Andy), 50, of Albany, Indiana, went to be with the Lord, his uncle Mark and grandparents, Saturday, June 13, 2009. He was born on May 22, 1959 in Muncie to Gary D. and Betty K. (Emerich) Thomas.
Andy graduated from Delta High School as well as Ball State University with a Bachelor''s Degree in Economics and Computer Science. He played tennis, was an avid bike rider and brother in Delta Tau Delta Fraternity while at Ball State. Andy was employed in the home building industry for ten years as owner of Midwest Homes and Thomas Builders. He was also the President and General Manager of Thomas Auditing in Muncie. He was on the Board of Directors at Avondale Federal Credit Union and WGE Federal Credit Union. He also owned and maintained several rental properties.
The love of his life was his family and especially his four beautiful children. He traveled to Halo Tournaments with his son Nick; accompanied his son Christian to travel baseball games, coached Little League teams and attended other sporting contests; he also loved listening to his son Alex''s piano recitals and attending his sporting events, Andy spent countless hours reading books and playing games with his children as well as attending his daughter''s ballet performances. He also enjoyed going to the family''s lake cottage, taking summer vacations in N.C, participating in water sports, playing golf with his sons, and working on a variety of projects. He could do most anything and fix everything.
Surviving relatives include his loving and devoted children, Nick, Christian, Alex and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Thomas, all living at home; his loving parents, Gary and Betty Thomas of Dunkirk, Lisa Thomas, the mother of his children; Albany, his sister, Kathryn Thomas Albany, many aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 23, at the Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, June 22 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
