G. Franklin Deskins, 83, of Hartford City , IN died Saturday December 1, 2007 at his residence. He was born on June 29, 1924 in Atwell Mountain , West Virginia the son of George and Evelyn (Addair) Deskins. On February 26, 1944 he married Cloia (Baker) Deskins who survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He worked for Hartford Concrete Products for seven years and Olga Coal Company for twenty seven years. He was a member of the Church of Christ and United Mine Workers. He was a boy scout leader.
Surviving relatives include his wife Cloia Deskins; two sons, F. David Deskins (wife: Susie); Wayne Deskins (wife: Michele); two daughters, Judy Ruble, Lucy Pruitt Stacy; eight grandchildren, Angela Dawn Wilson; Shawn Ruble; Jared Ruble; Michael Deskins; Travis Deskins; Dennis Nottingham; Regina Nottingham; Daniel Nottingham; and four great-grandchildren, Erin Mathew Wilson; Hannah Wilson; Raegan Nottingham, and Elijah Ruble
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers.
