Galen J. "Bud" Dickison, 82 of Muncie, died Wednesday morning, January 11, 2017 at his residence. He was born April 28, 1934 in Kempton, IN and was the son of the late Glen J. & Ruth (Baker) Dickison.
Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Maxon Corporation after 30 years of dedicated service as a Group Leader. Bud had also been employed with Brady Air Control. He was a member of the Cowan Christian Church.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Phyllis M. (Williamson) Dickison of Muncie; four son''s Ed Dickison (Tammie) of Elkhart, Richard Dickison (Cindy) of Monrovia, Phil Dickison (Linda) of The Villages, FL, and Roy Dickison (Shelley) of Hubert, NC; nine grandchildren Derrick Dickison of Elkhart, Jason Dickison of Muncie, Laura Rice (Billy) of Mishawaka, Joshua Dickison (Megan) of Noblesville, Gayle Davis (Ethan) of Greensboro, IN, Adam Dickison (Cassie) of Danville, KY, Aaron Dickison (Jennifer) of Westerville, OH, Akela Hensworth (Ron) of Jacksonville, NC and Tiffaney Atkins (David) of Japan; seventeen great-grandchildren and a brother Glen "Brad" Dickison of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Rose Landis and Columbine Shedlock; a great-grandchild also preceded him in death.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cowan Christian Church, 9600 South Colfax, Muncie, IN 47302 with Pastor Larry DeLaney officiating. Private burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospice at 2401 West University, Muncie IN 47303. Arrangements have entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home.
