Garl Murdoch Sharpe, 75, of New Castle, IN, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Muncie. He was born on December 19, 1934 in Anderson, IN, to the late Howard L. and Alma Murdoch Sharpe. Garl obtained a degree in accounting. He later joined the US Army and served for 2 years. Garl also married his love, Patra Redman, who precedes him in death.
Surviving relatives include his children: Melissa Corcoran (husband, Daniel) of Elgin, IL; Thomas Sharpe (wife, Karen) of Naperville, IL; Stacia Greenfield (husband, Scott) of Aurora, IL; and Tim Sharpe (wife, Maureen) of Arlington Heights, IL; wife, Virginia Ann (Murry) Sharpe of 21 years; step-children: Melinda Langeberg (husband, Joe) of Analaska, WI; and Jeff Murry (wife, Darcie) of West Chicago, IL; brother Tom Sharpe of Anderson, IN; sister Betty Merritt of Anderson, IN; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife and mother of his children, Patra Redman Sharpe; and brother Cecil Sharpe.
Upon the family''s request, there will not be any gathering in Indiana, but for his friends and family in the Illinois area, there will be a celebration of life held at a later time.
