Garnet M. Parsons, age 91, of Muncie passed away on Thursday September 26, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Muncie. Born on May 26, 1922 in Wells County, she was the daughter of the late John and Josie (Mounsey) Musselman.
Garnet was a graduate of Liberty Center High School and also attended Ball State University. On July 16, 1942, Garnet married Charles E. Parsons in Wells County. Garnet was a homemaker and an active volunteer in the community for R.S.V.P., started the WE CAN community canning program, and was a member of Eden Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years Charles Parsons of Muncie; children John (Karen) Parsons of Muncie, Dale (Leila) Parsons of Dunkirk, Marilyn (Dick) McKinley of Canfield,OH, and Carol (Michael) Sheley of Goshen; grandchildren Chad, Chris, Nathan, Kirsten, Stephanie, and Heather ; several great-grandchildren; sister Helen Hamilton of Poneto.
In addition to her parents Garnet was preceded in death by 6 sisters and 2 brothers
Friends may call on Sunday September 29, 2013 from 3-7 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie.
Funeral services for Garnet will be held on Monday September 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Eden Church 11205 N. Indiana 3, Muncie, with calling one hour prior. Pastor James Behrendt will be officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
