Obituary

Genevieve R. (Jenny) Buffin, 85, passed away Wednesday evening, July 22, 2009, at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born July 4, 1924, in Selma, the daughter of Byron Samuel and Lottie Francis (Glaze) Wingate. She graduated from Selma High School in 1967. Jenny married the love of her life, James F. Buffin on, November 28, 1941, in Farmland.
Mrs. Buffin had worked many years as a key punch operator for Marhoeffer and later for Warner Gear.
She was a member of the Selma Christ United Methodist Church where she had been the church treasurer for many years. Jenny also was a member of the Moose Lodge of Muncie and founded the Sweet Sixteen Bunco Club approximately fifty three years ago.
Jenny was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and making quilts.
Survivors include, one daughter, Sharon Tunnell, Selma; six grandchildren, R. Scott Tunnell (wife-Janet), Suffolk, VA, P. Andrew Tunnell (fianc-Christy Reynolds), Muncie, Phillip S. Tunnell (wife- Melissa), Indianapolis, Dale W. Buffin (wife-Rebekah), Selma, Deleena R. McCoy (husband- Jackie), Selma and Darin Cooper (wife-Kris), Ft. Wayne; eleven great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Wingate (wife-Marjorie), Muncie; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by, her husband, James; two sons, Gary Wayne Buffin and Nicholas Jay Buffin; one grandson, Gary Jay Buffin; son-in-law, Ruben W. Tunnell; one brother, George Arthur Wingate.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009, 2:30 p.m. at the Selma Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Rush officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, Friday, July 24, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
