George L. Brooks, 83, of Muncie, IN passed away peacefully on May 4, 2007 at Liberty Village Health Care Facility in Muncie. He was born March 23, 1924 in Clarion, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles A. and Effie M. (Elder) Brooks.
He was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the Eagles and a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include; one son, Gregory Brooks (wife - Janet) of Gaston, SC; one daughter, Betty Burch (husband - John) of Muncie; one brother, Norman L. Brooks of Muncie; one sister, Ethel L. Stratton (husband - Kenneth) of Harwick, PA; three grandsons and six great-grandsons. George was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Lee Brooks and his parents.
Services are scheduled for 12:00 PM on Monday, May 7, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN with Pastor Todd Spain officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in memory of Mr. Brooks to the American Cancer Society.
