George Marvin Hart Jr., 62, of Muncie , died early Friday morning, August 2nd, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born December 6th, 1950 in Muncie, IN and was the son of the late George Marvin Hart Sr. & Kay Beverly (Peckham) Atwell.
George retired from Borg-Warner after 35 plus years of service. He later was employed by Sherry Labs. George proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He enjoyed bowling, paintballing, and playing golf. George loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
George is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Theresa Kathleen (McCammon) Hart , whom he married on April 4th , 1970; a daughter Christina Marie Quate (Brad) of Muncie; a son Michael Scott Hart (Jennifer) of Parker City; three grandchildren, Jalen and Alivia Hart of Parker City, and Kaleigh Quate of Muncie; a brother Steve Hart of Yorktown. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Linda Swift.
Funeral Services for George will be held Tuesday, August 6th , 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Ron Elam officiating. Burial will follow with military honors to be conducted by the United States Army and the Delaware County Honor Guard in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call Monday August 5th , 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
