George Allen Neff 83, passed away at his home in Dyersburg Tennessee on December 18th, 2021. He was born on May 23rd, 1938 in Raymond City, West Virginia to parents Ivan G. and Joanna M. (Miller) Neff. George loved to share his stories of growing up in the mountains - a fisherman, a hunter, and he knew how to live off the land. He was proud of his upbringing. George graduated from Buffalo High School, and was a standout athlete his years there and excelled in football and baseball. Shortly after graduating he moved to Muncie, Indiana where he met and married his wife of 37 years, Georgie Mae (Landers) Neff and they raised three children. After her passing in 1996, George moved to Dyersburg Tennessee and remarried to Joyce Thompson. He resided there until his death. George was an artist, an athlete, a mechanic, and carpenter by trade and enjoyed working with his hands. He was a good, kind gentleman with a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was a strong man and a good provider for his family, and he will be missed by many. George is survived by sons, Buddy Neff of Muncie, Rick Neff of Muncie, and daughter Patsy Locke (Rodney) of New Port Richey, Florida. Sister Elaine Priddy (Dwight Eleanor) of West Virginia, brother-in-law John Landers (Margie) of Muncie. 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his wife and mother of his children Georgie Mae Neff, second wife Joyce Thompson, brother Carl Miller, sister Patsy Jividen and his parents Ivan G. and Joanna M. (Miller) Neff.
