Gerald "Jerry" Ylovchan

1956 – 2025

Gerald "Jerry" Ylovchan, 69, passed away on August 24th, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of Delaware County and graduate of Yorktown High School, class of 1974, Jerry dedicated his working years to the local community, culminating in his retirement from TS Tech in 2022. Known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty, Jerry was a friend to all and a devoted family man—always willing to drop everything to help someone in need.

Outside of work and family, Jerry found joy in singing karaoke and spending time with friends at two of his favorite spots: Paradise Bar and Gene's Lounge. His laughter, voice, and big-hearted spirit made lasting impressions on all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Frances Ylovchan; his sons, Joshua and Jamie Hutchinson; his daughter, Eva Bennett; stepson, Mark Johnson; and 11 cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Ylovchan and Janet Whittaker, as well as his stepson, Malcom "Eddie" Johnson.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8th, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 IN-3, Muncie, IN 47303. Visitation will follow the service from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

Jerry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.
