Gerald L. Vincent, 90, passed away Wednesday January 25,2017 at I.U. Health Blackford Hospital.
Gerald was born June 18, 1926 to Charles and Mabel (Besser) Vincent in Jay County IN.
Gerald joined the United States Navy in 1944. In September of 1946 he married the love of his life Helen (Selvey) Vincent. After his release from the Navy he went on to work as a mold maker for Indiana Glass for 44 years, before he retired. Gerald was an amazing wood worker and if you ask Helen he could make anything. He also enjoyed Hot Rod cars and spending time in the outdoors.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen Vincent and two daughters; Tonya Zehner husband Chris of Albany IN. and Debra Dornberger husband Jim of Dunkirk IN. and one sister Barbara McCune of Florida. Two grandchildren Amanda Hettinga husband Kelly of OH, and Ryan Zehner wife Tammy of Warren IN and three great grandchildren Andrew Hettinga, Zach Zehner and Charles Zehner.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mabel Vincent and one sister Donna Jones.
Service of remembrance will be held at Garden View funeral home on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org
