Ginger D. (Feuston) (Briggs) Shaffer of Muncie, Indiana passed away at the age of 74 at The Woodlands of Muncie early Thursday, September 23, 2021. She was born in Muncie, Indiana on February 11, 1947 to the late Marion E. and Sadie J. (Hicks) Feuston.
Ginger was married to William R. Briggs from 1968 to 1973 and Allen Michael Shaffer from 1973 to 1978. Ginger attended Delaware Community Schools and graduated from Yorktown High School. She attended IBM School at Indianapolis ITI and Ivy Tech. She was employed for 26 years at Ball Hospital in Muncie as an EKG Technician, Registration Receptionist, and Unit Secretary. She was also a Secretary at Unitog and a Secretary Receptionist for Central Indiana Orthopedics in Muncie. In her earlier years, Ginger worked at the Walgreens snack bar, York Furs, the Root Beer Stand on Hoyt Avenue, the Ross Corner Grocery Deli, the Muncie Meijer Deli, and the Pizza King in Selma. She had previously been the Queen Mother of the Golden Girls Red Hat Society and a member of RSVP and The Fraternal Order of Eagles in Muncie.
Ginger is survived by her son, Phillip M. Shaffer (father, Phillip J. Ellis) of Losantville, Indiana; a beautiful granddaughter, Emily Christine Shaffer; a brother, Danny Feuston (wife, Helen); one uncle, Paul Feuston of Florida; close friend, Marylou Jones of Florida; and nieces and nephews.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Marion E. and Sadie Jane (Hicks) Feuston and older brother, Lloyd F. Harker, Jr.
Private services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Garden View Funeral Home and Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com .
