Gladys Dorothy Sargent, 93, of Hartford City, died Monday evening at Albany Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 4th, 1921 in Dunkirk and was the daughter of the late John and Ollie Goodyear.
Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved caring for and being with her family. Gladys enjoyed gardening, canning, being on their family farm, and going to church. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Dunkirk.
Gladys is survived by her son Bob Sargent (Nola) of Albany; granddaughter Teresa Sargent of Hartford City, grandson Mike Sargent (Jennifer Scheidenger) of Albany; two great-grandchildren Jenna Scheidenger and Abby Boolman; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Claude R. Sargent in 1991, four sisters and one brother also preceded her in death.
Funeral Services for Gladys will be held Friday, August 28th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Collins Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
