Gladys M. Sanders, 86, a lifelong resident of Hartford City, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield, Indiana. She was born September 18, 1923 in Hartford City to the late Garland and Isabelle (Gadbury) Smith.
Gladys was a graduate of Upland High School, worked as a teller at Citizens State Bank in Hartford City for 15 years, was the secretary in the guidance department at Blackford City High School for 24 years and member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Hartford City. She was active in the county extension home economics program and was an avid reader.
She is survived by a daughter, Anita (Stephen) Hiser of Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Sanders, 1995; sisters, Florence Clouse and Lucille Smith.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3 Muncie, Indiana. Friends may call from noon until the time of service. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
