Gladys (Roark) Turner, 72, Albany, IN, mother of many and a God fearing woman whom went to be with the Lord, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 26, 1937 in Mills, KY to the late Berry and Betty (Slusher) Roark.
Gladys was employed as an inspector for 37 years at Ball Incon in Dunkirk, IN. She was also a member of First Apostolic Church in Eaton, IN.
Surviving relatives include her loving children, Donna Underwood (husband: Jim), Albany, IN; Kathy McCormick, Dunkirk, IN; Bruce L. Turner (wife: Leslie), Albany, IN; Tammy Gregory (husband: Kenny), Albany, IN; and Ronnie Turner, Albany, IN; sisters Billy Jean Hensley and Milly Parton (husband: Marvin), both of Pineville, KY; ex-daughter-in-law, Lori Turner; grandchildren, Stephany Cortner; Amy Cortner; Larry Joseph Planck; Angela McCormick-Blevins (husband: William Doyal Blevins, Jr.); Heather Turner; Bruce D. Turner; Tyler Gregory; Kenny J. Gregory; Ronald Harrington; and Megan Jean Turner; great-grandchild, Larry Joseph Planck III; nephews, Butch Davenport (wife: Linda) and Jimmy Watt (wife: Anna); special friends Rikee Edwards and Rodney Johnson; and the many, many friends and coworkers that she loved dearly.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, J. B. Hensley; Wayne Hensley; Sam Hensley; Bobby Hensley; and Herman Hensley; grandsons Jason Allen Cortner and Chad Allen Cortner; sister Kelsey K. Roark; and father of her children, Bruce Turner.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastors John Tyner and Stuart Phillips will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Sunday, July 19, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
