Glen Robert Himes, 86, of Selma died Tuesday morning, February 16th, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born November 28th, 1929 in Muncie and was the son of the late Henry Luther & Ruth (Schaefer) Himes.
Glen retired from Westinghouse in 1991 after 29 years of dedicated service. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Glen enjoyed spending time outside on his son''s farm and he loved nature.
Glen is survived by his loving wife Josephine (Tira) Himes of Selma; two sons Larry and Henry Himes of Selma; a daughter Anna Roberson (Randall) of Tampa, FL; a granddaughter Shawna Smith (Mike) of Tampa, FL; two great-grandchildren Austin and Tira Smith of Tampa, FL; a sister Linda Yates (David) of Indianapolis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Shannon Roberson and a sister Betty Baughman.
Funeral Services for Glen will be held Saturday, February 20th, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 on Saturday at the funeral home.
