Mr. Glenn Ward Goodwin, 69, of Muncie, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Renaissance Rehabilitation Center in Muncie.
Mr. Goodwin was born May 26, 1940 in Muncie, IN.
He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1959. He was considered the "Father of the community" and the neighborhood "go to guy". He did electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry. He was a member of Ambassadors of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Goodwin; ten children, Tony (Monica) Goodwin of Columbus, OH, Craig (Jennifer) Goodwin of Anderson, IN, Rodney Rickert of Texas; Terry (Amy) Rickert of Muncie, Michelle (Azevedo) Chimbanda of Lafayette, IN, Shawn (fianc, Danielle) of Muncie, Michael Goodwin, Nakia Goodwin, Karim Goodwin and Kashif Goodwin all of Muncie; one brother, John B. Goodwin (Mary) of Arlington, TX; one sister, Severlee (Willie) Hogan of Muncie; three sister-in-laws, Donna Goodwin of Columbus, OH, Barbara Goodwin and Vernice Goodwin both of Muncie; special nephew, Sheridan Goodwin of Muncie; sixteen grandchildren; special family addition, Richie and Mark Drummer; special friends, Rashid Shabazz, Larry Stockett and Tom Page.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lucille Goodwin; five brothers, Wesley, Douglas, Oscar, Willie and Clifford Goodwin; two sisters, Stella Webster-Smith and Christene Thompson; and one granddaughter, Shawnelle Nevings.
Funeral services will be held at True Vine Holiness Tabernacle Church on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. Calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church. Burial in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie.
