Glenn (Bob) Ross, 90, joined his sweetheart and wife Darlene (Dolly) of 50 years to who he was absolutely devoted to, and also his little angel daughter Susie, in Heaven to forever live with Jesus. Bob passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 14.
He was in the Air Force in the mid-late 50's, where he served as a jet mechanic in the 26th Fighter Squadron Division. Bob's travels during his service included the Philippines and Hong Kong. Bob worked at Westinghouse/ABB for nearly 40 years while supporting his family. He loved to go deer hunting every fall with his 2 sons in years past and always supplied venison for the freezer! He also enjoyed golfing with sons Bobby and John, 50's music, and he LOVED fishing which was his favorite pastime. Bob was well-known as the "Walleye King" at Prairie Creek, but now has a prime spot while frequenting the fishing ponds of Heaven! Bob was preceded in death by his very beloved grandmother Louella Smith, who raised Bob, his parents Eva and Clarence Etchyson, his wonderful wife Dolly, precious daughter Susan, his nephew Eddie Collins, sister Virginia Collins, cousin Jerry Smith, and several aunts and uncles. Bob is survived by son Robert Ross (wife-Katrina) of Granbury, TX, son John Ross, daughter Gayle Jones (husband-Spencer), grandsons Robert Ross Jr (wife-Mardah), Joseph Ross (wife-Sophie)of Danville, IN, Logan Ross of Granbury, TX, Casey Jones (wife-Ashley), Drake Jones (wife-Alix), John Ross Jr, Gage Ross, and Christian Ross. Granddaughters Cassie Whitehead of Dayton, OH, and Samantha Ross of Granbury, TX. Bob's sister Sandra (Rosie) Collins, 9 great-grandchildren, several nephews and nieces, also special friends and fishing buddies Jerry and Judy. Bob's family are so thankful to Brooke, NP from Longevity for her thought and insight in Dad's care, for the loving care provided by the entire staff of The Waters Of Muncie who treated Dad and our family as members of their own families, also to Lauren from Southern Care Hospice who made dad's transition to his eternal Heavenly home so much softer and easier. Calling will be at Garden View on Monday, December 29 from 11am-1pm with funeral at 1pm with Pastor Steve Riggins officiating. Military Honors and burial at Gardens of Memory. Dinner following of Bob's favorite foods and fellowship at Cowan Lions Club clubhouse after service, all are welcome.
