Gloria P. Hughes, 83, of Selma, IN died January 2, 2010 at Morrison Woods in Muncie, IN. She was born on September 23, 1926 in McCreary County, KY the daughter of Parker and Florence (Tucker) Slaven. On November 10, 1940 she married Albert H. Hughes who preceded her in death on December 9, 2003.
Gloria loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. She was an avid fan of the Colts and the Pacers.
Surviving relatives include four sons, Steve Hughes of Homer, IN; Albert H. Hughes, Jr. (friend: Sue Shay) of Parker City, IN; Randy Hughes (wife: Sara) of Muncie, IN; Monty Hughes (wife: Jennifer) of Walton, IN; four brothers, Parker, Jr; Leland; Roger; Nathan, six sisters, Vinna; Catherine; Wanda; Cedith; Theresa; Patricia, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, Nathan
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 6, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ball Memorial Hospice.
