Guy Edgar Plymale, Jr. (Eddie) of Muncie, Indiana went home to Heaven at the age of 88 on February 13, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. He was born to Guy and Odsie Plymale on January 2,1933 in the same Muncie, Indiana home where his brother and father were also born.

Guy graduated from Muncie Central High School and Ball State University with a BS in Business Administration and a MA in Education. He worked several jobs: selling appliances, working at Al Pete's, Warner Gear, and as a foreman at Owens-Illinois Glass Co. before beginning teaching elementary school and retiring as a 6th Grade Instructor. Guy was also an artist and had the pleasure of selling his art all across the state of Indiana. He placed first in competition for a watercolor drawing in 1951.

Guy served in the United States Army as a sergeant from February 1953-1955 in the 5th Armored "Victory" Division. While serving, he received the National Defense Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended  other churches over the years as well, where he taught Bible classes, led singing, and did some preaching. He became a Christian in 1953 at the New Testament Church of Christ while in the Army.

Guy is survived by his daughter, Vicky Lynn Rector (Steve) of Lebanon, TN; four grandsons, Steven Rector (Tasha) of Kokomo, IN, Bryce Bow (Tabitha) of Bloomington, IN, Michael Rector (Kate) of Shelbyville, TN, and Zac Bow (Cara) of Muncie, IN; four great-grandchildren, Nolan Rector, Natalie Rector, John Michael Rector, and Baby James Timothy Rector, due in May. Guy is also survived by his brother, Roland Plymale (Barbara); two nieces, Robin Koenker (Jeff) and Tracy Nygaard (Pete); and cousin, Phyllis Wray (John).

Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Odsie Plymale, and his youngest daughter, Kathy Lynn Bow.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home. Military Honors will take place. Memorial gifts can be sent to American Legion Post 19, Muncie, IN where Guy held membership. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
