Obituary

Harlin D. "David" Brown, 77, of Muncie, IN died Monday April 26, 2010 at 6:10 p.m. at Muncie Health Care. He was born on March 9, 1933 in St. Joseph, IL the son of Buel S. and Minnie (Rayburn) Brown. On September 12, 1975 he married Karen (Strahan) Brown.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed wood working, puzzles, watching his aquarium, checking for cracks in his eyelids, model trains and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Karen Brown of Muncie, IN; three sons and five daughters, David Brown (Linda) of Rickman, TN; Rodney Brown (Pam) of Missouri; Buel Brown of Centre, AL; Debbie Wilcox (Raymond) of Pilot Rock, OR; Janice Luce (Daniel) of North Carolina; Marcia Baxter of Nashville, TN; Sue Maple (Alvin) of Arkansas; Kim Pegg (Chad Clock) of Gaston, IN; one brother and two sisters, Joe Brown; Darlene Collins; MaryAtnip; one sister-in-law, Hazel Brown; 20 grandchildren (many nick-named "Bones"); 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Buel and John; two brothers-in-law, Coy Collins and Truman Atnip; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday April 30, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Coleman Barlow will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Hawk Cemetery in Yorktown, IN. The Delaware County Honor Guard will honor him with military rites at the cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
