Obituary

Harold David Duncan, 67, of Farmland, died Monday evening, November 25th, 2013 at his residence. He was born October 31st, 1946 in Muncie, and was the son of the late James Harvey & Georgia Frances (Brown) Duncan.

Harold proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy, and served on the USS Thornback & USS Sam Rayburn submarines. He retired from General Motors in 2000, from the Ft. Wayne Truck Plant with 31 years of service. Harold loved fishing, hunting, and was an avid reader. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Jennifer Lynn Duncan (Reed) of Farmland; a daughter Christie Duncan Sprinkle (Scott) of Westfield, IN; three grandchildren, Alivia, Gavin, and Lindsey Sprinkle of Westfield; a brother Jim Duncan (Gloria) of Farmland; brother-in-law Stan Reed (Sharon) of Norman, OK; sister-in-law Kathy Reece (Gene) of Parker City; four nieces, Lisa Reeder (Craig) of Farmland, Kathy Morris (Mike) of Farmland, Amanda Sheffer of Parker City, Tina Clark (Dan) of Lewisville, TN; a nephew Don Reece of Edgewood; several cousins; and many extended friendships in the area and Port Charlotte, FL. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law James Reed, mother-in-law Jane Reed, and nephew Brian Duncan.

Funeral Services for Harold will be held Saturday, November 30th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial with military honors are being conducted by the United States Navy and the Delaware County Honor Guard in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, November 29th and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospice, with envelopes provided at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a heart of thanks to IU Ball Memorial Hospice and Heath Care, with a special thanks to Christy, Jenni, and Dr. William Fisher.
