Harold Dean Garton, 80 of Muncie, died Sunday afternoon, November 6th, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born October 11th, 1936 in Angola, IN and was the son of the late Jack R. & Mary E. (Cook) Garton.
Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He was a do-it-yourself person who could fix anything. Harold was a longtime licensed plumber. He was an avid collector and very much an automobile enthusiast. Harold loved studying about American history.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sharen Sue (Williams) Garton of Muncie; two sons Gary R. Thomas (Kim) of Kankakee, IL and Michael D. Garton (Dawn) of Noblesville; a brother Franklin D. Garton of Kankakee, IL; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Penny Jo Garton.
Funeral Services for Harold will be held Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Franklin Garton and Gary Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
