Hazel M. Ellis, 92, was born on July 23, 1926, to the late Elick and Claudia Moore in Dyersburg, Tennessee.  She transcended to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

Hazel's family moved to Muncie at an early age. She attended Muncie Community Schools and graduated from Muncie Central High School.  She was employed by the United States Postal Service for more than 25 years prior to retirement in 1989.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Ellise M. (Mark) Dixon of Indianapolis, Benjamin M. (Iverne) Russell III of Fishers, Donald L. Russell of Muncie, and Ronald L. Russell of Muncie; three sisters: Estella Bernhardt of Duarte, CA, Rosie Mitchell of Muncie, and Henrietta Williams of Muncie. She also leaves 6 grandchildren: Harold E. James, Shonda Russell, Katrina Russell, Connie Thompson, Denisha Attin, and James Russell; 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Mary Mitchell and Katherine Louise Womack, as well as 2 brothers: John Moore and James Moore.

We will miss our mother, grandmother, and friend. We will always remember her lovely smile and kind ways.
