Hazel R. Maynard, 86, of Muncie, died early Tuesday morning, July 23rd, 2013 at Morrison Woods Health Campus. She was born June 17th, 1927 in Smithville, TN., and was the daughter of the late Carmon and Mary (Ward) Rackley.
Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired in 1991 from Ball State University dining services. She was a member of Northside Assembly of God.
Hazel is survived by her two children, son Ray Maynard (Barbara) of Muncie, and daughter Peggy Sims (Terry) of Bloomington, IL; four grandchildren, Anthony Maynard (Kathy) of Muncie, Bryan Maynard (Lori) of Alexandria, Tammy Kemp (Jon) of Bloomington, IL., and Angie Hanson (Dirk) of Bloomington, IL; ten great-grandchildren; a sister Virginia Rackley of Muncie, and a brother Doris Rackley (Margaret) of McMinnville, TN. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Mancel H. Maynard in 1995.
Private graveside services will be held in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Pastor Carlton Bowden officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home.
