Obituary

Helen Pauline "Polly" Garrett, 99, of Redkey, IN, passed away on April 29, 2020.  Pauline was born in Weiner, Arkansas, on January 31, 1921 to William A. and Antonie P. (Schultz) Schnell.  Pauline married Darwin Myers "DM or Dink" Garrett on March 16, 1941.

Pauline worked alongside her husband as a welder, machine punch operator, and general shop keeper of their manufacturing machine shop. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Dunkirk, the Women of the Moose in Muncie, and the Elks Lodge of both Dunkirk and Garrett.   Pauline enjoyed life and people.  She loved to garden.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dink; parents; siblings: Viola Slocum, Mae Chaplain, Blanche Weaver, William Schnell, and Evelyn Schnell; and a nephew, John Slocum.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Sybil Crutchfield and Barbara Russell, and many great nephews and great nieces that loved her.

A private graveside service for friends, family, and neighbors will be held in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.  Garden View Funeral Home has been honored to assist Pauline's family and friends on their loss.
