Helen Irene Jackson, 97, of Daleville, died Wednesday morning, December 3rd, 2014, at Bethany Pointe in Anderson. She was born July 16th, 1917, in Daleville, IN and was the daughter of the late Walter H. & Esta E. (Fox) McKee.
Helen was a sixty-nine year member of the Daleville #568 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Christian Women''s Club in Anderson, D.A.R. member, Daleville Home Ec. Club, and the Tally Ho Bridge Club. She loved to raise flowers and had quite the green thumb. Helen loved her family and was very precise in making hand sewed quilts. She worked in catalogue sales for Sears Roebuck.
Helen is survived by her two daughters Linda S. Cline (Vaughn) of Columbia City, and Kathy E. Stewart of Anderson; three grandchildren, Cathy Burrus (Burny) of Long Beach, CA, Erin Hughes (Luke) of Laurel, MD, and Sean Stewart (Grace) of Daleville; two great-grandchildren, Aislinn and Emerson Hughes of Laurel, MD; two sisters, Tressa Souders of Muncie, and Eva Lewis of Manchester, TN; a brother-in-law Paul Jackson (Mildred) of Daleville; her lifelong best friend Harriet Spangler; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry M. Jackson; five sisters, Mary Horton, Frances Kramer, Emma Lawson, Elizabeth Southers, and Harriet Callender and a brother Walter McKee.
Funeral Services for Helen will be held Saturday, December 13th, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Gordon Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. The Order of the Eastern Star Service will begin at 2:00 Saturday at the funeral home, with the funeral service to follow.
