Helen M. Rothenberger of Winter, Wisconsin passed away at her residence at the age of 83 on Sunday, March 21, 2021. She was born on June 6, 1937 in Indiana to the late Elmore R. and Margaret J. (Hickey) Cox.
Helen married Joseph C. Rothenberger in 1953. She retired as a Bus Driver from Davidsmeyer Bus Services in Elk Grove Village, Illinois . She loved spending time with family and friends. She participated in several league events, including bowling, darts, and pool, and she loved doing ceramics and crocheting. She had a love for playing card games, and her favorite board game was Aggravation, even while being bedridden for ten months. She was also an avid CB user and went by the CB handle, Charterqueen.
Helen is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Rothenberger of Winter, Wisconsin; sons, Billy R. Rothenberger and David W. Rothenberger, both of Winter, Wisconsin; daughters, Brenda J. McGarry of Winter, Wisconsin and Debbie J. Dombroski of Belvidere, Illinois; brothers, Thomas L. Cox of Muncie, Indiana and Russell E. Cox of Silver Lake, Indiana; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Elmore R. and Margaret J. (Hickey) Cox; son, Joseph J. Rothenberger, Jr.; sister, Eldora (Sue) Huston; and granddaughter, Tammy S. Valko-Trobiani.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com .
