Helen E. Vincent of Hartford City, Indiana passed away at the age of 93 at her residence on Monday, November 15, 2021. She was born in Albany, Indiana on September 16, 1928 to the late William and Grace Selvey.
Helen married Gerald Vincent on September 27, 1946, and they journeyed through life together until his passing on January 25, 2017. Helen liked bowling and walking with her friend, June. She loved animals and was a great cook.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Tonya Zehner (Chris) of Albany, Indiana and Deb Dornberger (Jim) of Dunkirk, Indiana; grandchildren, Mandy Zehner of Ohio and Ryan Zehner (Tammy) of Warren, Indiana; great grandchildren, Andrew Hettinga and Zach and Charlie Zehner; sister-in-law, Barbara McCune of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and her cat, Rudy.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Vincent; parents, William and Grace Selvey; brothers, Charlie, Freddie, Claude, John, and Frank Selvey; and sister, Laura Mae Fetters.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Helen's caregivers, Debbie, Martha, Kim, and all of the IU Health Hospice nurses for the genuine care they provided for Helen and her family during this time.
Cremation will take place and private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home and Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to IU Health Hospice or Blackford County Animal Shelter in Hartford City, Indiana.
