Herbert A. Seals, Jr. 87 passed away Friday June 17, 2022. He was born in Omak, Washington on December 20, 1934.

His parents Herbert A. Seals, Sr. and Martha L. Seals Allison, landed in Gaston, Indiana in 1948. Herb graduated from Gaston High School in 1952 and married Elaine (Collins) January of of 1957. Herb and Elaine moved to El Paso, Texas in 1958 with their newborn daughter while Herb served out a short stint in the US Army as a typist. (Herb could accurately type 73 wpm on a manual typewriter).

After returning to Gaston, Herb completed his BSS degree in Business from Ball State University in 1960. Herb worked with Delco Battery in Muncie for 38 years and owned and operated a new and used furniture store for many years in various Muncie area locations.

Herb's spare time was filled with his passion for basketball. Herb and Elaine also enjoyed following and attending local girls high school and college volleyball matches as well as men and women's basketball games throughout the years.

Herb commented before his death, "I love my church family." He was a student of the Bible and attended Gaston Untied Methodist Church.

Herb took great pride in his four children and was their most ardent fan whether it was during their athletic endeavors or following their work and business adventures and successes. He frequently commented on how his kids gave him and Elaine plenty of material for conversations through the years.

Herb is survived by his loving wife of 65 years and four children. Theresa Bohm (David) Orlando, Florida; Michael Seals, New York City; Norman Seals, (Sherri) Jacksonville, Florida and Ken Seals (Melissa), Gaston. Herb had six grandchildren, Nathan Seals, Elisabeth (Tyler) Storie, Abby Seals, Andy Seals, Kyle Bohm and Nathaniel Bohm.  Herb and Elaine's three great grandchildren Josie and Logan Storie and Alice Seals were a delight.

Herb is preceded in death by his brother Richard Seals (Muncie) and is survived by his brother Clifford Seals (Tampa, Florida)

Funeral Services will be held at Garden View Funeral Home at 10501 N SR 3 Muncie, In 47303, with a viewing on Thursday June 23, 2022 from 4:00-7:00P.M.with Services on Friday June 24, 2022 at 11:00A.M. Burial to follow at Thompson Cemetery in Gaston, In
