Howard T. Lance was born on November 19, 1935 in Daylight, Tennessee to Ridley and Minnie Lance.
He began his life on the farm, spending time down at the "creek" after school.  Howard's family moved to Indiana when he was just a young boy where he spent his remaining school years attending Muncie schools.  He graduated from Muncie Central High School and remained a proud Bearcat his entire life.  While still in high school, Howard began working on his apprenticeship in tool and die making.  He retired from General Motors after 43 years.
Howard enjoyed following Indiana University basketball, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Indiana Pacers.  He and his family spent many hours watching the games together.
Howard married the love of his life, Crystal May Robison, and they shared over 50 years together.  They fell in love with camping and traveling throughout the United States and Canada with Wally Byam Caravanners in their "silver bullet" (Howard's most prized possession - his Airstream travel trailer).
Howard is survived by two daughters, Deborah Miller (Yorktown) and Barbara Mattucci (husband Pete) of Gaston.  Grandchildren, Shawna Netser (husband Dan), Christopher Miller, and Vicky Mattucci.  Great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jack Netser, and Charlee Mattucci.
Heaven gained an angel on May 30th, Howard is now reunited with his parents, his wife, his siblings, and his daughter (Sherry Lance).
Services will be held at Garden View Funeral Home on Monday, June 5th, 2023 with a visitation 11am-2pm and funeral service at 2pm.  Pastor Tim Glidden will be officiating at the funeral service.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
