Ida Mae Pointer, 82, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of True Vine Holiness Tabernacle where she served in the choir, and she was an usher and mother of the church.
Survivors include four sons, George Murphy, Walter Murphy, Curtis Lay and L.P. Pointer III, all of Muncie; five daughters, Annie Marshall, Olivia Murphy, Dorothy (Wade) McCoy, Mary (Rosheem) Johnson and Patricia Pointer all of Muncie; one sister-in-law, Mabel Woods Muncie; special friends, Daisy Bonner and Kate Davis, Muncie; thirty-three grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.P. Pointer Jr., her parents, Ruben Woods and Olivia McCustom; two sons, Willie Murphy, Ali Pointer; one daughter, Joyce Ann Pointer; four brothers, Walter Hawkins, R.J. Simpson, Jimmie Woods, and Tommie Woods; two sisters, Alberta Simpson, and Ruby Quinn.
Services will be held Friday at True Vine Holiness Tabernacle at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Wade Sloss officiating.
Calling will be two hours prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
