Obituary

Imogene Brooks, 91, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Parker City, after a short illness.
She was born November 17, 1917 in Coffee County, Tennessee, the 6th of nine children born to William and Maggie (Smith) Kennedy.
Imogene attended and graduated from high school in Morrison, Tennessee, and later moved to Muncie, where she met and married Oneil Brooks in 1938.
Imogene worked at the F.W. Woolworth Co. in both Muncie and Anderson as personal manager, retiring after thirty years of service.
She always looked forward to yearly family reunion in Mishawaka, Indiana, also spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan never missing the chance to watch the Colts or Pacers play.
Imogene is survived by two daughters, Peggy Bragg (husband-Jack) of Muncie, Barbara Jackson (husband-Dave) of Parker City; nine grandchildren, Mark Bragg (wife-Nena), Mitchell Bragg, Dayna Powers (husband-David), Lisa Courtney (husband-Steve), Kevin Bragg, Chris Fueston (husband-Brad), Tim Combs, Kelly Combs, Sam Combs; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Janie Kennedy, Centerville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oneil (1988); three brothers and five sisters.
Imogene will be sadly missed by all of her family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Parson Mortuary, with Rev. Kevin Holt officiating.
Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday.
