Inez LaVon Michael, 82, died at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Blackford Community Hospital.
She was born in Roll, Indiana on April 24, 1927 to the late Orville J. Schmidt and the late Dora (Stephens) Schmidt. Inez graduated from Roll High School in 1945. She married Allen L. Michael on February 3, 1946 in Blackford County. He precedes her in death on August 21, 1987.
Inez was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother and she was a member of New Community Worship in Hartford City.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, suduko, NASCAR, Indy 500 and Colts.
Inez will be sadly missed by her sons, Phillip L. (wife, Gloria) Michael of Morristown, AZ, Tracy N. (wife, Shari) Michael of Hartford City; daughters, Patricia E. Kilgore of Gas City, Barbara Y. Michael of Hartford City, Vicky A. (husband, Robert) Holman of Elkhart; grandchildren, Carli Vanessa Martin, Stacy Allen Michael, Daniel Ray Michael, Michael Allen Kilgore, Lisa M. Kilgore, Michelle R. Michael, Joshua Haines, Seth Haines, Zachary G. Michael, Ryan Holman, Emma Holman; great-grandchildren, Lillian Rose Michael, Caden Allen Weller and Sadie Marie Kilgore; brother, Paul D. Schmidt of Wells County; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; grandson, Marcus Todd Michael; sisters, Mabel Spencer, Bertha Guillaume, Laura Alexander and Nina Lykins; brothers, Milo W. Schmidt, Glenn Schmidt, Clifford Schmidt, Marion Schmidt and Orville Schmidt, Jr.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009 and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at Keplinger Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Hall of New Community Worship officiating.
Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory, 10703 N. State Road 3, Muncie.
