Obituary

Irene C. Barnell, 83, of Middletown, IN died Thursday February 22, 2007 at her residence. She was born on April 13, 1923 in Chickpee, MA the daughter of Omer Alcide and Leona (LaBelle) Normand. In May of 1969 she married Cleo Barnell who preceded her in 1972. She had previously been married to Francis X. Provost who survives and John Cole who preceded her in death in 1981.
Irene loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, horseback riding, bird watching, her fish aquariums, and taking long walks with her dog Randy.
Surviving relatives include one son, Robert N. Provost (wife: Christina) of Middletown, IN; two daughters, Michelle Page (husband: Larry) of Muncie, IN and Cecelia A. Grimaldi of Middletown, IN; one brother, Noel Leroy Normand (wife: Simone) of Belchertown, MA; eleven grandchildren, April Lynn Ray (husband: Harold) of Pendleton, IN; Charlotte D. Provost of Indianapolis; Robert A. Provost of Anderson; Ernest J. Spell (wife: Melissa) of Denver, CO; Charlotte R. Davidson (husband: Brian) of Denver, CO; Nathan D. Cole of Redkey; Jacquelyn A. Grimaldi of Middletown; Jessie, Annie, and Sarah Page of Muncie, and April S. Albert; five great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Austin, and Carter Ray; Elora Spell and Andrea Davidson. She also left behind her very dear friend and caregiver, Belinda Millage (husband: Pete) of Anderson and special friends Norm and Randy Day of Middletown.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday March 2, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Rev. Father Robert L. Williams will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Memorial contributions can be made to Delaware County Humane Society in memory of Irene.
