Ivan Cowan, age 86, of Muncie, IN passed away on December 19th, 2023 in his home.

Ivan was born in Albany, Kentucky to Floyd and Ermon Cowan.

He moved to Muncie in 1964 to begin working at Brodericks Foundry, where he worked for over 40 years.

Ivan was known for trading knives, guns, and most anything else he could make a dime on. He also proclaimed himself as the best looking man in Kentucky. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.

He is survived by Nadine Shelton, his loving wife and caregiver; his daughter, Vickie Burke (Danny King) of Muncie; grandsons, Tyler Burke of Muncie, Craig Burke (Shalaine) of Noblesville, and Evan Burke (Emily) of Muncie; step-grandchildren, Sherry and Matt (Ashley) Shelton of Albany, Kentucky, and Clint King (Kaitlyn) of Gaston; his absolute pride and greatest joy, great-granddaughter, Ella Burke of Noblesville; six step great-grandchildren, and two step great, great grandsons.

In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceding in death by his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth "Ann" Farmer Cowan; his son, Tim Cowan; son-in-law, Kyle Burke; step-son, Ralph Shelton.

Visitation will be held on December 27th, 2023 at Garden View Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. Service will follow at 6:00 P.M. with grandson, Craig Burke and nephew, Pastor Tommy Hensley officiating.
