Jack F. Johnson, 80, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Renaissance Muncie Healthcare after an extended illness. He was born on March 3, 1930 in Muncie, the son of Amial Arnold and Bertha (Riddle) Johnson. He was a 1949 graduate of Morton Memorial High School, ISSCH Knightstown, IN. Jack was also a graduate of The National Radio Institute and was an electrician for Marhoefer Meat Packing Company for 29 years, and retired from Guide Lamp in Anderson after 14 ½ years. Mr. Johnson was a member of the United Auto Workers.
Jack served in the US Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Jack''s hobbies included gardening, electronics, and his lifelong love of his pets.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Jean (Farrington) Johnson of Muncie; 5 sons: Scott of Oceanside, CA; Bradley; Gregory (wife, Kathy); Christopher (wife, Ellen); and Robert, all of Muncie; 2 daughters: Marlene Pettiford of Muncie; and Elizabeth Hase (husband, Gary) of Waseca, MN; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved Chihuahua, Pixel. He will be forever in the minds and hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Robert, William, and Arnold; 2 sisters: Betty Lee and Retta Bee; and granddaughter Shelby.
Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, has been entrusted with arrangements. Per the family''s request, there will be no services or calling hours. Cremation will be held and followed by inurnment in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue Fund "ARF", 1209 W.
