ALBANY - Jackie I. Cox, age 53, Albany, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 4, 2011.
Born in Muncie on June 2, 1957, she was a resident of Albany for most of her life.
She graduated from Delta High School in 1975 and then Ivy Tech to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Ball Memorial Hospital for the past several years as a L.P.N.; prior to that she was employed with The Woodlands and Westminster Village in Muncie.
Survivors include her daughter, Tonia Weatherhead (husband, Jason), Portland; three sisters, Connie Moles (husband, Russell), Dunkirk, Bettie Ashcraft (husband, Paul), Albany, and Sherrie Pence (husband, Jerry), Albany; six grandchildren, Jordan, Jared, Jaydon, Larissa, Jacob, and Keegan; nieces and nephews are also surviving.
She is preceded in death by her father, Floyd N. Cox; her mother, Helen (Beal) Parson; and her former longtime companion and fianc, John Hall.
Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday January 8, 2011 at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
