Jackson Jack'' C. Perry, 84, of Muncie, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010. He was born on September 10, 1925 in Smartt, TN to the late John William and Ella Jewell (Reynolds) Perry. Jack served his country in the Army from mid 1944 to early 1946. While in service, he was awarded the Purple Heart. On September 4, 1948 Jack married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Lowman.
Jack was employed as a tool and die maker for Delaware Machinery Tool & Die, Yorktown Tool & Die, and B & B Tool & Die Company. He retired from B & B in 1987. Jack was also an avid golfer, having a membership to Crestview Golf Course. Jack belonged to Muncie''s Moose Lodge. He also loved to bowl; cook; coin collect; fish; and play musical instruments. Jack also attended Northside Assembly of God Church.
Jack is survived by his loving daughter, Kathy Perkins (husband, William) of Muncie; 3 brothers: Charles W. Perry (wife, June) of Muncie; Ralph H. Perry (wife, Barbara) of Muncie; and James W. Perry (wife, Betty) of Indianapolis; sister Shirley P. Wilburn (husband, Tom) of Muncie; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jack''s family would also like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Ball Memorial Hospice and everyone else whom assisted in Jack''s care.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Ellen Perry of 60 years; and son Jack Douglas Perry.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will be on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery where military honors will be given by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Ball Memorial Hospice, 2401 W.
