Jacqueline Lee Alberta (Bess) Irwin, 83, passed away, January 28, 2011 at Albany Health Care.
She was born May, 1, 1927, in Muncie and worked for twenty-one years as Dr. Joseph I. Pippinger's receptionist. Mrs. Irwin was a long time member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for forty years. She was a very creative lady who loved music, laughing, and making those around her laugh.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Harry Irwin; a daughter, Robin Rufatto, (husband, Ron), Muncie; her grandchildren, Jennifer and Anthony Rufatto, Fishers, Cherie Clark, (husband, Eric), Ft. Wayne, Ashley Alexander, Indianapolis, and Allison Ebert, (husband, Sean), Madison, Wisconsin; her great grandchildren, Carmen, Cassidy, Katie, Candie, and Drew. Jacqueline is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kandie Irwin; her parents, Carl and Zelopha Bess; and her brother, David Keith Bess.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Doug Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, two hours prior to the service time on Tuesday.
